Ala Leresteux’s works are inspired by their interests in philosophy, biology, chemistry and physics and their art is their way to to make different concepts clearer for them, and to attract to them the attention of their spectators. They would like to think that their works are part of magical realism, but probably it is not true. In reality, they are closer to surrealism, aleatoric or oneiric art. Leresteux surely hopes that they will manage to create their own genre. They have been greatly inspired by Rene Magritte and M.C. Escher and they think they both influenced their style and idea of what it is to be an artist. Leresteux loves to read - favorite writers influencing their style includes Julio Cortazar, Herman Hesse, Umberto Eco, Thomas Mann and Yasunari Kawabata.
