Some artists seek to make art for the sake of beauty. Others create with the intent to make viewers think and reflect on the world. Phillip Cox is not one of these painters. His art asks for one thing only- your disgust. From childhood, he has been fascinated with the medieval world and fantasy literature: his work portrays the grittier and more violent themes of both. Cox explores a broad variety of techniques sourced from both his contemporaries as well as his renaissance & neoclassical forefathers to depict his uniquely disgusting interpretation of the vulgar and the profane world of Dark Fantasy.
